(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Parnia#AWAreness_during_REsuscitation_.28AWARE.29_study )and the study was also debunked in http://web.randi.org/swift/no-this-study-is-not-evidence-for-life-after-death
If patients could see this and reported on it, we could assume that awareness existed out side the brain during cardiac arrest, although actual death was not achieved because the patient was resuscitated. To the disappointment of the lead researcher, no evidence of NDEs being awareness without a functioning brain, was observed. Sam Parnia tried very hard to explain the results away, but actually admitted that any of the results could be contributed to confabulation. Many recognized valid psychological experiments have shown that our brain will fill in gaps in your memory upon recovery, any way it can (confabulation). It will make up memories, fill in details obtained at other times in reality or dreams and change them to fit a memory of what happened with the patient absolutely believing these memories. Conclusion: The study is a bust to NDEs being actual events.
