Genetic disorders: "WHY ME?"

2/23/2016

“Why me?” is a question many people asked themselves when they are suffering from illness or genetic defects. Many search in vain for an answer but cannot find one. When we notice that some real worthwhile people suffer and some less worthy do not, we realize that illnesses and genetic defects cannot be God’s punishment for personal wrong doing, so the question remains ”why”?
The clergy’s answer, that we cannot question God’s will , we should not blame him since he has a purpose that is beyond our comprehension, is not a satisfying one for many people. Illnesses and genetic defects are part of creation and are often thought of and explained as God’s punishment for the original sin of Adam and Eve eating fruit of the tree of knowledge, and therefor all of mankind must suffer. That begs the question why is it so unequally distributed among people, whether they are exemplary citizens or not.
Is there an answer? Yes there is and it is a very clear and logical one, dumb chance! Evolution is a random process, driven by random events, some more successful than others but never perfect. Random chemical and electrical processes, initially produced a complex molecule which reproduced itself. It took along time and zillions of combinations but it happened at least once, we are here, in a universe that is so large that it is beyond our comprehension. Many complicated life forms evolved by random processes and mutations. More than 99.9999% of them failed to continue development. The successful ones are not perfect and continue to evolve in a never ending process. Mutations and faulty genes appear randomly and if not deadly will appear regularly and can be passed on to next generations.
“Why me” is thus answered very clearly, bad luck! Your life style and worldview have nothing to do with the process. It’s a giant lottery.
We constantly obtain more understanding of these processes. Medical science is finding out how we can correct these random mistakes. Please don’t come up with the argument that these scientists are inspired by God because that begs the question of “why now” after hundred-thousands of years have gone by since the first humans evolved.
The question “Why me?” is clearly and logically answered by the science of evolution which is no longer “just a theory” but has accumulated enough evidence to make it an established fact. The answer is: “Random Chance” or in other words “Bad Luck”.

NDE Study, "AWARENESS" finally published

2/19/2016

The results of a large study called “AWARENESS”, conducted and designed by Sam Parnia Of the Stony Brook University, a believer that NDE are glimpses of the here- after, has finally been published. This study did not rely on testimonies alone, but also on hidden images and objects which could not been seen by patients on the operating table but could be seen by out of body instances, where the body floated up to heaven and other methods. This awareness study, launched in 2008. supposedly indicated that NDS were real but his conclusions are called pseudo science  by others. Neurologist Michael O’Brian wrote: “most people would not find it necessary to postulate such a separation between mind and brain to explain the events," and suggested that further research is likely to provide a physical explanation for near-death experiences ”
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Parnia#AWAreness_during_REsuscitation_.28AWARE.29_study )and the study was also debunked in http://web.randi.org/swift/no-this-study-is-not-evidence-for-life-after-death

If patients could see this and reported on it, we could assume that awareness existed out side the brain during cardiac arrest, although actual death was not achieved because the patient was resuscitated.  To the disappointment of the lead researcher, no evidence of NDEs being awareness without a functioning brain, was observed. Sam Parnia tried very hard to explain the results away, but actually admitted that any of the results could be contributed to confabulation. Many recognized valid psychological experiments have shown that our brain will fill in gaps in your memory upon recovery, any way it can (confabulation). It will make up memories, fill in details obtained at other times in reality or dreams and change them to fit a memory of what happened with the patient absolutely believing these memories. Conclusion: The study is a bust to NDEs being actual events.

The "What's His Name" Myth

2/8/2016

Be prepared and do not lament, listen to me. God is coming soon, he has keep track of your wrong doings every day and night. He knows whether you being good or sinful so be diligent and obedient for your own sake. When judgement comes, you will be rewarded or punished accordingly. Remember God is coming soon, Judgement is near.
Does that ring a bell? Sounds like a common description of God,  doesn’t it.
Well there is a song which, remarkably says the same thing
You better watch out, you better not cry
You better not pout, I’m telling you why.
“What’s His Name” is coming to town
He’s making a list………………….I am sure you know the rest
Yep, that’s why parents, avoiding their responsibility, tell their children that a higher power, “What’s His Name”, is real and therefor they better be obedient because he hears and sees everything and you cannot hide from him. Depending on your actions he will reward or punish you. When they grow up they finally realize it is a myth. What baffles me is that, when growing up, the “What’s His Name” myth is recognized to be a fairy tale, but the similar “Deity” myth, is not. Many substitute their parents with a Preacher, Imam, Rabbi or priest, and substitute God, for “What’s His Name” to be told what to do, rather than take responsibility for their own actions, God can always forgive you for bad deeds.
