On the last show I heard, George had a Lady numerologist as his guest. She explains how a number could tell the character of a person. She arrived at that number by taken the first vowel of one’s first name then used the number that this vowel represented in the alphabet to “analyze” his/her character. Thus if your first name is John or Oscar, the first vowel is an “o”, the 15th letter of the alphabet. (counting the “y” as a vowel if it was between two consonants). This number 15 is supposed to describe your character, that means there are only 6 “characters” (a,e,i,o,u,y) in the whole of humanity (different countries with a different alphabet would have different numbers, and what about Chinese characters). The lady then “explains” the character of Obama and Putin based on their number. Any one should see that this is pure nonsense. Your parents, when naming you, determined your character? George, by seemingly endorsing this craziness, actually encourages the gullible to pay this person to get her analysis. This kind of fraud should not be allowed. It is great entertainment George but you should add a disclaimer when you interview these numerologists, mediums, gosh hunters and conspiracists.
When driving late at night I often listen to a radio program called Coast to Coast AM by George Noory. This show is all about conspiracies, astrology, numerology and completely devoid of real science and logic, but it is entertaining! I am sure George doesn’t believe in what many of his guests are saying but he does encourage them to make his show successful. By not making any disclaimers he does give these people or their theories a credibility they do not deserve. I even know Atheists who believe in not only astrology and/or numerology but also in conspiracies. That’s why I label myself an unbeliever, meaning that I don’t believe in ANY supernatural or purely speculative suppositions.
