Why are Atheists against Christians?

A blog by Achilles Rave on the Global Religions website and titled: “Why are Atheists so against Christians and not other religions” and I quote “My OP is to address anti Christian propaganda by atheists. I don't get why so many atheists across the world are ONLY against Christians when there are like 4000 other religions on earth, some of which promote violence, child sacrifices and cruelty to animals. Yikes. Like the satanic practice of wicca where small birds are killed and their blood squeezed into a chalice and drank by high priestesses at their demonic ceremonies. Disgusting and dangerous is what I call them”,  Is another misunderstanding of the Christians.
Of course Christianity is mostly discussed here because of the country we live in. But an Unbeliever like me, by applying logic and observation have concluded that there is no supernatural, no gods, no ghosts no spiritual world and see the danger that religions (all of them) brings outweighs the benefits. It also rejects all beliefs in Astrology and Psychic predictions and on and on.
Wicca is a religion. Atheism is not. Here in north America, it is the Christians who want their lifestyle imposed by law on all of us and use our taxpayer's money to support churches' tax exemptions so do not be surprised that we locally object more to Christianity. Atheist in other countries, under often life threatening conditions, work hard to get rid of their local superstitions and religions, to improve their society.
The writer of this article shows the narrow perspective of the North Americans without seeing the big picture. No surprise here. Atheism is based on observation and logic as well as the result of more and more facts established by science, while religion is based on ancient philosophers with no understanding of nature and unproven suppositions. Wake up people. Stop living in a fantasy word.

Well said Ben. I'm glad that in the United States that we have freedom of speech and can critize false beliefs and ideologies. Because there has been a predominantly Christian influence in almost all aspects of life in our country, and being a non-believer, I believe it is my duty to inform Christian believers that what they believe is false. I believe that Christianity or any religion has no place in the US government. We have prime expamples of what happens when theocracies are in control of countries.

I am an agnostic polytheist. I believe that we all have at least one spirit inside of us. The reason I do, is because the one in me has been conversational with me for about 28 years.

Spirits can't be empirically proven. If one proves himself to you, you won't be able to prove him to anyone else.

The spirit in me talks about God in the first person. But my belief is that we all have a different spirit inside of us. We each have a different god.

To quote him would be pointless. But, he does say that there is no religion that comes from any spirit.

His name is üG. Pronounced 'oogie'. (As in boogie board).

He says that "YHVH, Hashem, and Allah do not exist. No spirit answers to those names."

Although an historic Jesus may have existed..., he says that "Jesus Christ never existed. There is no forgiveness of sins through Jesus Christ."

It doesn't matter what we believe. Only what we do.

Our destiny is reincarnation on other planets. Unless a person has been too wicked.

Miracles are lies. There will never be any verifiable, tangible, empirical proof of spirits. The best evidence is people hearing voices.

As an atheist, I am not personally opposed to Christianity. I am opposed to any religion that tries to impose their beliefs in the education, laws and governments of countries. I am especially concerned with the country that I live in.

As the country I live in, has a problem with some sects of Christianity more than any other religion, they tend to get my ire. Were Islam or even Buddhism to attempt to insinuate themselves to control our laws, education and government, then I would be fighting them more.

Luckily for me, Islam is predominate in another part of the world and most Christians have at least modified their morals to be more civilized.
